Filtering and Search
The Client Manager provides powerful search and filtering capabilities to help you quickly find specific clients or groups of clients. This guide explains how to use each feature effectively.
Search Bar
The search bar is located at the top of the Client Manager and allows you to perform text-based searches across multiple fields.
What Can You Search?
The search function looks for matches in:
- Tenant name - Organization or customer name
- Client identifier - Unique client ID
- Product name - TOC product type (ERP Pro, School ERP Pro, etc.)
- Machine name - Server or instance name
How to Search
- Click in the search bar at the top of the page
- Type your search term (e.g., “Acme Corp”, “prod-server-01”, etc.)
- Results filter automatically as you type
- Clear the search by deleting text or clicking Clear Filters
Search Tips
- Partial Matches - The search finds partial matches, so “acme” will find “Acme Corporation”
- Case Insensitive - Searches are not case-sensitive (“ACME” = “acme” = “Acme”)
- Multiple Words - Search terms with spaces look for exact phrase matches
- Quick Access - The search updates in real-time as you type
Examples
| Search Term | What It Finds |
|---|---|
springfield | All clients with “Springfield” in tenant name, machine name, or identifier |
prod | All production servers or clients with “prod” in any searchable field |
us-east-1-abc123 | Specific client identifier |
sep | All School ERP Pro clients |

Failed - Result: Only clients in us-east-1 with failed updates
View outdated clients in a schedule group:
- Set Update Group:
Production Weekends - Set Version:
2024.10.2 - Result: All clients in “Production Weekends” group still on version 2024.10.2
Monitor in-progress updates:
- Set Update Status:
In Progress - Enable Live Updates (see Live Updates)
- Result: Real-time view of all currently updating clients

Pending - Verify scheduled updates for the region
Filter Performance Tips
- Use Filters First, Then Search - Apply filters to narrow results before using search for best performance
- Combine Related Filters - Use Region + Update Group together for regional group views
- Bookmark Common Views - Use browser bookmarks for frequently used filter combinations (future feature)
Troubleshooting
No Results Displayed
If no clients appear after filtering:
- Check that you have clients matching your criteria
- Click Clear Filters to reset and start over
- Try broader filter settings (e.g., “All” instead of specific values)
- Check for typos in the search bar
Filters Not Working
If filters don’t seem to apply:
- Ensure data has finished loading (check for loading indicator)
- Try refreshing the page
- Clear all filters and reapply them one at a time
- Check browser console for errors (contact administrator if needed)
Search Not Finding Known Clients
If search doesn’t find a client you know exists:
- Try a different search term (partial name, ID, etc.)
- Check for typos or extra spaces
- Clear all filters - they may be hiding the client
- Try searching by different fields (machine name vs tenant name)
Next Steps
Now that you understand filtering and search:
- Learn about Status Indicators
- Try Scheduling Updates
- Set up Live Updates for real-time monitoring
